Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in travel, style, and food. Hope you have a nice stay!

Okay I will admit (rather sheepishly) that I found out about this bar through a reality TV programme called Singapore Social (Netflix plug!). In this particular scene, the main characters were having afternoon tea at the Vagabond Club, with cupcakes in the shape of boobies (nipplage and all). That’s clearly what enticed me!

Upon further research (Google), I found out that they hold weekly whiskey and jazz nights which was literally music to my ears. Two of my biggest loves in my life, combined in one evening! Since it looked swanky (in a 5* hotel), we decided to dress up and head to the hotel. It’s not easy to find and is placed in a reallyyyy random location! We decided to walk it from the MRT station and though I wasn’t overly dressed, let’s just say I received quite a few stares in my heels, from the locals.

Upon arriving into the hotel, you enter a dark boudoir-like venue. To the left, is the bar also known as the whiskey library (what a cool name)! When approaching the bar, I told the barman I had a reservation and he immediately confirmed my name as if he were expecting us. Nice touch!

Once seated, we were handed a menu/ large catalogue of whiskies by countries. I have never been so impressed by a menu, and it took me ages before finally choosing a Japanese whiskey - one of my favourites. The Scots would be mortified!

After dinner, we sat closer to the front of the restaurant to watch the live jazz band who were really fantastic. The only factor that would have been the cherry on the cake, would have been a live singer to accompany the jazz band. Nevertheless, the music had everyone enjoying themselves, toe-tapping and it made the whiskey go down more smoothly.

One man took his toe-tapping activities far too literally by taking off his shoes. Who does that?! Unfortunately due to his location, whenever I took a photo, I also got a photo bomber in the form of his blue socked foot (see evidence above). Minus the footman, it was an overall enjoyable experience, an intimate evening with excellent customer service. I would highly highly recommend, especially for you jazz loving, whiskey drinkers - Thursday nights are where it’s happening! xo
